Continued from Galveston Day 1 Part 1.
Our daughters are so cute. I’m partial.
Look at that happy face! So worth the car trip down here. Also, look at the beautiful, brown waters of the Texas gulf. So lovely.
Appropriately dressed for the beach.
She may not look like it, but CL LOVED the water! She wanted to throw herself in it, and if put down at any point, would make a beeline for it. Big fan of the ocean.
CL’s turn to get chased by the waves. She loved it!
Learning how to build a sandcastle for the first time.
Pleasure Pier in the distance.
Such a nice, short walk back to the hotel.
And that ends our time at the beach. Time to go get cleaned up and then go grab dinner.
Someone is having a wedding on the hotel lawn.
We decided to walk to dinner as we picked a place that is almost right next door.
It’s windy and little one hides her face against me for protection. The heart melts.
The restaurant in question, Miller’s.
There is a haze all over Galveston right now, and it’s creating all sorts of weird washed out photos.
I didn’t notice what the sign said until we were leaving. I gotta say, everything we had was very mediocre, but I did happen to order the shrimp and grits and IT WAS AWESOME! Really enjoyed it.
Keeping the kids busy with Cheerios.
Keeping mama sane with sangria. To bad it tasted like crap wine with fruit juice dumped in it.
Aftermath of a small father/son debate. I think both decided it was better to concentrate on other things. Haha.
Must be allowed to press all buttons
Doesn’t know about the buttons.
The back of the hotel doesn’t have any windows. Our hotel is actually only one room and a hallway(+stairs and utilities) thick. So every room has a view.
We’ve had a lot of people give us sidelong looks here in Galveston. Not as much in very touristy places like the hotel and restaurant. When KL went in a homeless man gave him a mean stare and then the clerk immediately started talking to KL about Chinese people the moment he walked up to the counter…KL said he wasn’t sure what the guy was actually trying to tell him.
Back at the hotel. We decided to grab a few drinks before heading back up since the girls are asleep(KL’s parent’s are watching them). We went to the pool bar(but did not swim).
We decided to play a game where we ordered the other person’s drink, and then they had to guess which one off the menu it was after tasting it. KL ordered me some berry old fashioned drink and I ordered him a dreamsickle drink.(harhar).
The view from our seats. Not too shabby:)
Second round. This time we tried to order the same drink off the menu without telling each other what we were each trying to order. A tall order as it was a rather large drinks menu. As you can see, we did not make it. Bummers.
And that’s a wrap from the first day!
