Continued from Galveston Day 1 Part 2.
Early start to the day, courtesy of PL.
Breakfast in the room for the girls. Better to have them fed before you go anywhere.
The business end(as KL would say. Must pay homage to him since this IS his blog).
There it is, breakfast for the adults. My parents, DH and BH, had raved about this place so we thought we’d give it a try.
Blurry but I’m digging the ’70s vibe in this photo.
Please, please, please note KL and his mother’s coordination today! They are really big into matching outfits and enjoy planning mother-son outfits. It would mean a lot to them if people noticed their efforts.
I think this place is mainly known for its baked goods.
Cheerios make everything better.
Verdict….meh. Sorry mom and dad. Don’t think it was any better than IHOP or Denny’s really.
AC does not work well while the car idles.
View from the look out deck on the ferry. We took PL up but it was too windy for CL so she stayed in the car.
Right after I took this photo I heard a couple very heavy “splats” next to me. Time to run for cover before these D#&@ birds S*%^ on me. KL braved it for a bit longer. Luckily, no human targets were hit.
Waiting to get off. There is a LOT of waiting involved with this ferry. Too much waiting for my taste. Waiting to get on, waiting to get to the other side, waiting to get back on, waiting to cross again, waiting to get off again. Would not recommend, especially not with little kids.
Waiting to get back on the ferry after disembarking. It was a long line:/
KL’s dad was complaining a lot at this point and KL’s mom referred to him as her third child(Hahaha!).
They made everyone turn their cars off when on the ferry this time. We did not have to do that the first ride.
Little one was getting antsy being stuck in the car seat for so long. Since the car is off I got her out for the boat ride.
Probably one of the better ways to go.
Off to walk around the little historic looking down town area known as The Strand.
Stopped here to eat some ice cream.
Candy and chocolate counter to the right, ice cream to the left.
So many sweets. I didn’t even load all the photos of the different counters! Very hard to resist buying bag fulls of stuff.
Doesn’t know about ice cream or candy.
Finds out about ice cream. We are probably shooting ourselves in the foot by letting her know what this stuff is.
Must take a break from eating ice cream to tickle little one’s feet.
Twinkies. BFFs. Kindred spirits. KL and mother are truly inseparable.
The kids love drinking water this way.
To be continued at Galveston Day 2 Part 2.
