Continued from DC Day 2 Part 1.
After that super hot morning outing, we took a break at the apartment. Now it’s about 3pm and time to brave to heat and head out again.
There’s a little bit more cloud out right now, marginally cooler.
He’s been practicing on his winking. Lol.
FBI.
So many grand buildings here.
Natural History Museum, here we go. Nice that it’s free and no timed entry tickets needed.
Still hot and tired from that walk to here. Heat just saps all energy.
Reminds us of our little Mo-bad (family dog) back at home.
That’s an awesome fossil.
More reminders of our dog. We miss her, that little terrible animal.
Scratch my belly with your tail spikes, the carnivore said to the herbivore.
Lol, what. Hahaha.
Miss our dog. That dumb little mutt.
I can’t believe they are actually sitting down and watching a video for 5minutes.
Always cool to see one of these.
KL points.
Lol. Signage fail again. To mammals and rest rooms!
Sup Lucy, how you doing girl.
The Hope Diamond is quite a hit with the crowd. Meh.
That’s make a cool countertop.
Look at all these countertop materials.
This would make such an awesome countertop.
Little KL’s favorite stone, a poop shaped one.
I do love opals.
Cool, a round quartz sphere.
That’s a super cute little alligator mummy.
Yeah baby X2!
What amazing camouflage.
This is some butterfly special exhibit that we didn’t get tickets to.
The kids love the museum gift shops.
Kids have been pestering us for ice cream all day. We finally gave in and got them some ice cream at one of the food trucks parked outside of the museum.
Yeah, that hit the spot, even for me. Yum.
There’s constant police sirens going here in central DC. Just nonstop police escorts for all sort of government officials nonstop all throughout the day.
The giant boulevards are annoying to cross, but it is kinda cool how they sometimes have a magnificent view at the end.
So hot.
Alright, dinner spot close to our hotel. Our friend LL gave us a restaurant list for DC. I’m sorry to report that it’s been such a struggle with the kids that we are just going to go with the path of least resistance. We will probably only eat at restaurants super close to our apartment here.
Burning up, it’s nice to be in some AC.
Crazy.
We thought that we’d be adventurous and feed our kids tapas for dinner. Let’s see how this goes.
PL volunteered out of the blue to try a pepper.
She just ate the tip, but we were proud of her for even trying.
Kids complains about much of the food, they ate mostly bread. But this was a surprise hit with Little KL. He loved the octopus.
PL knocked over a whole glass of water…
Overall, meal was mostly successful. The kids got full on mostly bread and the food we forced them to try.
LIttle KL made a fuss because he was too short to get on the swing.
It’s time to buy a bottle of liquor and buy less expensive drinks when out eating.
We’ve probably got the best apartment in the building. The long jutting out white stone element on top is our terrace. I think we are the only one with a giant terrace. Fancy.
Family movie night.
Enjoying the DC sunset.
It’s a very beautiful sunset indeed. There’s some clouds moving in so we’ll probably get slightly cooler weather tomorrow. One can hope.
RL being a voyeur.
To be continued at DC Day 3.
