Continued from San Jose Day 4 Part 1.
I think us visiting the Jade Museum first did this museum a disservice. We’ve already seen many of the similar items in the Jade museum.
I mean, they do have a lot more gold here though.
The museum staff are keeping a close watch on us. Our kids are bouncing off the walls, especially this one.
There go kids, it’s a touch section. Touch all of it as much as you want!
That’s quite the gold nugget.
Kids like dioramas, I like dioramas.
Shoot me now please. The kids may look calm right now, but they’ve been running around crazily around the museum. It’s impossible to keep them still under the watchful eyes of the museum employee. They are definitely more strict here than at other museums.
Alright, that’s enough of trying to keep the kids calm in a museum. Let’s call it a day here.
It’s only a little bit after 1:30pm. We’ve got nothing else planned for the day. We figured we’d get our usual cold brew from the only Starbucks we’ve seen in Costa Rica.
This doesn’t feel right. Why are we getting Starbucks here? I think we should visit a local cafe instead and there are definitely choices not too far from this. We left Starbucks in search of greener pastures.
But first, ice cream for the kids. As if they are not energetic enough.
I hope they remember us buying them ice cream when they grow up.
I liked both of these perspectives so I kept both photos on here.
Pretending like he’s some martial arts master.
The front of the National Theater. We are looking for a coffee shop that we found on google maps but can’t seem to find in person. I asked a hotel bell boy and he pointed at the National Theater and told us the cafe was located inside. Ahhhh.
Found. They were very nice and allowed the kids to bring their ice cream through the theater entrance as long as we went straight from the front door into the cafe.
The theater lobby.
This is a cool cafe.
Cool hand painted ceiling. Boobs!
Boobs.
Cold brew coffee. Their straw was made from some sort of plant stalk or something.
PL has a sixth sense of when someone has a camera out.
The kids are a lot today. We could not keep them calm other than showing them a video on RL’s phone.
Glad we came here instead of Starbucks. Bonus points for it being located inside the National Theater. Reminds me of the coffee shops in Vienna.
They kept on asking and asking, so finally we said yes. They can walk straight through a flock of pigeons and watch them part ways right ahead of them. I hope this scratched that itch.
Back at our apartment. The kids tried some rambutans. We need to start packing and take care of some logistics in preparation for our flight back home tomorrow. Spent the rest of the afternoon inside our apartment on our devices and whatnot. We are ready to go home.
We had such a fun time for the past two dinners, let’s make it three in a row.
Our dinner spot.
It’s like a secret garden in here.
What a beautiful restaurant. These used to all be houses that have now been turned into restaurants, hotels, and whatnot. I would say most of the buildings in the area still remain homes though.
Clothe as wallpaper.
Even the rear section of the restaurant is beautiful.
Love the giant bamboos.
Crab egg rolls.
Steak. The food was again very good. We played Ravens(charades) again tonight. It’s a good way to keep the kids occupied while we wait for the food to show up. 3 for 3 on dinner in San Jose. I want to say the dinners were the highlights of our time in San Jose for myself. It’s just very enjoyable to eat in a beautiful restaurant in a foreign country with your family that you love very much I think. I hope the kids remember these meals with fondness like the way I do.
Time to head back to our apartment and finish final packing.
It’s like a mini Lombard street.
Last night in San Jose. Tomorrow, we wake up early in the morning and head to the airport. It’s been real San Jose. I think more people should visit San Jose.
To be continued at Home, Sweet Home.
